Hey guys, I've noticed that ever since I made my own computer, minecrafts been a bit buggy. I managed to force update to 1.3.1 when it first came out but only after many re-downloads of minecraft and jars. Now that there's been a new update everything's been messed up again and I have no idea whats wrong. Basically If I try to update, it will download shortly, then cut out. The closest I've gotten was 85% but even then it stopped updating. If anyone could post possible fixes or permanent fixes I'd be grateful.

PS. Ive tried deleting .minecraft and some of the normal simple things to no avail.
try updating java to 64bit if you havent already
Just installed 64 bit lets see if that helps.
also you want to make sure you have the latest and greatest video drivers...
I've actually found that i had to disable my antivirus to get it to download, it's worked so far for me
Download the latest AMD Catalyst Drivers 12.8.

Make to also download/update your DirectX and Microsoft Net.Framework 3.5 or 4.0
yeah amd drvr

and forthe custom shortcut to minecraft.exe

use

"C:\Program Files\Java\jre7\bin\java.exe" -Xmx4096M -Xms2048M -cp Minecraft.exe net.minecraft.LauncherFrame

where -Xms is half max ram but at least 1GB and -Xmx is max ram in megabytes
You could also use MCLauncher to download the latest jar files, and then allocate more ram to Minecraft and upgrade your graphics card drivers. You could also set it's priority to High in Task Manager by right clicking it
Try deleting the entire Appdata/.roaming/Minecraft folder. Then launching minecraft.
Ive tried that Bamf, and for some reason it doesn't work. Ill update my drivers again to see if that helps.
