umm why cant i join the MIKE server????:

Duh, which one?..If you mean build 1 you need a special launcher called Spoutcraft.

What? I join all the time without spoutcraft. Anyway, if you want any help you'll need to tell us what the screen says when you join and what server you're trying to join.

Pretty sure Mike has build 1 set to spoutcraft only, whenever I try joining without I get the message "Spoutcraft is required to join this server"

No Spoutcraft required.

Yes build1 has been spoutcraft enabled for a while now.

To take advantage goto spout.org and install the client plugin for it

I remember having Spoutcraft for a while when it first became Spoutcraft, but then my HDD crashed and I wasn't bothered to re-download it for the custom chat colours that only Spout players could see :P It's mainly used with Bukkit plugins to allow them to add custom blocks and stuff to Minecraft without a client sided mod. But it's not required to join, I never get a message about not having Spoutcraft :/ @OP If you want help, what server are you trying to log onto, and how- you probably have 1.4.2, give it a while and eventually we'll update when Bukkit comes out
