Title says it all

Windows 8 seems meh, Designed for tablets really, I haven't tried it since the developer pre-release though, so I haven't seen much of the changes, but it depends on what you want your PC for and whether or not you like the design personally. I'm between minds on it atm, but I'd like to see what other people think :P

1. No not just for tablets
2. yes its awesome on Pc
3. yes as a MS partner i had early access to the final version and have put it tru its pace with all my win 7 software and games ...
.... only one issue and it wasnt win 8 related just esl.eu being too lazy to release a beta of their wire client for win 8

4. as a partner i get access to the distribution channel for EMEA and I can get whoesale prices to resell this ....they are doing specials at the moment, on bulk orders and bundles

How it it so cheap - coz it wholesale prices and exvat.

The way it works is you ask for a quote ,
the more you order the better the bundle price or bulk price on quantity,
i invoice you ,
you get a pdf invoice via email
you pay via paypal and you also pay the paypal fee (if any)
I then order it from the wholesaler with the paypal funds
I receive a n email with the download info and license key

I didn't mean it was just for tablets, just that the whole "Metro" system (I'll call it that for now, even though it's no longer called Metro) seems more tablet - designed, but I know it runs well on a PC, just doesn't seem like a proper PC OS at first glances :P However I think it looks pretty awesome and supposedly runs quite smoothly on next to all PCs

I used Windows 8 Consumer and Release Preview. Personally I like both Windows 8 and 7. Most people who criticize windows 8 have either not used it or just is simply a mac user. It uses less resource compare to windows 7 and xp. It uses around the same memory usage has Ubuntu if you are running Firefox (800mb). Windows 7 used around 1.5-2gb of ram.

Does it work well on dual monitors ?

Windows 8 isn't going to do too well. It's got some nice pros, but the cons are equally scaled in magnitude, and they're a bit more

I'm not sure why they were trying to "revolutionize" the OS design a tablet-friendly GUI. I could possibly see it being a good move in terms of future development and aiming at the <21 market.

The GUI might seem to be cool to some, but when you eventually tire of it, there's no way to change it. It's a permanent problem. The start menu issue is also bothersome, to a degree. I'm pretty sure Microsoft released windows apps and other software updates to fix this, but note; a majority of these functionality-based issues are things you'll have get, and in some cases buy, from the store. I've heard that for some, the clicking required to do basic tasks can get really lengthy.

Definitely looks good for tablets though; after all, it's built for them.

Sticking with Windows 7 here - I can do everything on Win8 in Win7, faster, cheaper, and in a more stable, desktop/laptop friendly environment.

Forget about metro being an issue its not , simply one click after logon brings up desktop... its not rocket science.

The os nor any other does not determine multi monitor support its simply down to the GPU and its software. So yes it works fine

The desktop they made was more or less a quick-fix solution to the issue with metro. In my opinion, it doesn't even come close to stacking up to a Windows 7, or even a Windows XP desktop in terms of usability. Plus, all of the programs and applications will end up linking back to the Metro screen, so it's kinda hard to get away from it.
