Cool stuff
I think we need lots of small classes, like alchemists, miners, soldiers, knights, mages, enchanters, archers, woodcutters, thieves, blacksmiths, carpenters etc.
We cant have everyone run around doing everything
Barbarian: melee and can use diamond weapons (i want this one the most) :3
Legend: can use most items but is the hardest to get off all classes
Assassin: uses iron weapons but leather armor
Viking: wields iron swords and normal arrows (i like this one too)
Thats all i got for now but plz consider having Barbarian or Viking :3

I think that these could be easily combined though. Like Mages + alchemist + enchanters, blacksmiths + carpenters, and even soldiers + knights.
I think MP's ideas were good but we do need a blacksmith class.
But maybe basic classes don't belong to a specific town and thus, can't use certain items but on the plus side, they don't get taxed by a town and can sell things they acquire to any town's store: Peasants, Couriers, Miner/lumberjacks?, hunters
Town classes can use and make higher level items (iron and diamond swords?) but they get taxed by the town they live in: Apprentice, Blacksmith, Shopkeeper, Farmer, Citizen.
And then High level/Royal classes can use Diamond swords and make better things, however they must help defend the townspeople and town from mobs and wars and they can still get taxed (except the king): Guard, Knight, Wizard (can also own a shop for enchanting and potions and such), Royal (King/Queen/Prince etc).
But I also just realized that there probably won't be enough players on the server to fulfill all the roles a town can have :/
Alright I think this whole "weapon permission" thing is not so great since its gonna be a legit resource server.
I think instead of making you use worse weapons, you either get less health (which I know is possible) or less damage when using weapons (which I don't know if it's possible)
either way the whole weapon/damage thing can just be balanced with health alone (I think)
and how would we enforce the architect/builder rule, if you can't build then it means you can't make trenches, you can't get through a block that's stopping you from slaying a peasent... you can't catch up to a person building a 1X1 tower...
and so on
About not being able to use certain levels of tools, is there a way to stop damage value on blocks?
Citizen classes:
landlord /baron /governor / king
trader
councilmen
chancellor
Battle class:
Knight (swordsman)
men with bow and arrow (what are they called again?)
Wizard
Scout
Guards
Guards of the King (Elite warriors?) or Knights from the square table (mc style!)
i think there called archers idk if thats spelt corectly thow
