If no one on you team can code, you might consider taking a different approach.

Try taking it from an editing point of view.
Find a mulitplayer game that has an editor and create a complete make-over mod.
New maps
New buidings
New textures
New weapons
New sounds

It may not give you everything you want for your new project but it should at least bring most of your ideas into existence and create a playable prototype.

Note: If Paga is to be pronounced "Pay-jaw", Try different spelling, Paijaa, Paejau
Try out Unity 3d its flippin awesome and easy , has some guides on its site and on youtube on how to code http://unity3d.com/ (they made slender with it). I made some games with it but didnt finish them, it takes some time and practice but you will have a descent and easily made 3d mmorpg.

I hope this was helpful if you have any question about unity i might know the awnser to it.

For the 3D version, Unity would definatly be a go-to, however it isn't very well optimised as some of you may have seen with Slender, but easy to use and the results can be quite promising once you have the right people Smile
get a copy of Unity it should do the trick , a dev license copy /long term trial ( hint hint nudge nudge)
It is very optimised actaully , the makers of slender just didnt know how to or simply didt put enough effort in it. There are more games made with unity which are a lot better then slender.
I've seen a lot of good games with Unity that seem to run quite well, the only Unity gayself have never really tried Unity apart from mucking around in it for a few minutes. I migredownload it and try again, because it's been a while since I had it on my PC :P I'll take you word on it being well optimised

So yeah, do what Glic said :P but only buy it if your 100% certain you can folkoq

Follow this through (on my phone sorry for any typos)
or just get a crack of it. dont know if you can get the mmo online of you have a crack. maybe ask mIKe , he might know how to get stuff online
Well if you cracked it, you would have all the features, because Unity themselves don't own the servers, you have to setup your own servers for your game, and Unity can't exactly lock you out of your own server *but* if you release the game and begin to sell it, and Unity find out ( Probably not likely, but you know) then it would probably end in a lawsuit ( also not likely, but you know,) or a cease and desist. (These are pretty much worse case scenario, but if you plan on charging for the game buy Unity, don't crack it. Also you'll need to rent out servers etc and create a server software in Unity (not sure how it would be done)). I still have that nice little 2d mmorpg engine I found a while back on my PC, and I downloaded a few updates to it (I didn't make it, Google was my friend :P) I could show it to you if you want.
A Debate over Unity has appeared to have sprung up overnight, as for sprites, here they are
Thanks for the sprites :P You need to check the thread more often, that debate's been going on for days :P

Have you got Terrain, like Grass etc, and in a more tile-sheety way :? Like this:
