I kept all my files and programs from 8.1, everything has worked perfectly. Nothing corrupted or lost that I've seen.
If you plan to use Cortana, take note that often she will just open an Edge tab and search for what you said.

Windows 10 ftw, cortana is sexy, i aint disabling her and microsoft collecting data ? nooo... oh wait googles been doing that for years as is alot of other services we use everyday... not an issue since thay just use it to correlate and link up other services and ads..
