Minecraft - The Hunger Games - SoBootiful - 04-11-2012
So recentley i've found several videos on youtube of Minecraft servers set up so that players can play "The Hunger Games" and I have to admit it looks like a lot of fun.
I was wondering if it would be possible to sort out a server and set this up, perhaps for the tournament to be held twice a week or whatever you guys find is appropriate.
There is a map (featuring places that were in the movie) available somewhere but I haven't been able to find it yet.
I don't expect anyone to watch the full video, just to get a feel for it :3

this looks like it could be a lot of fun. wonder if it could be set up as a gamemode, like one round until the last person standing, then the map automatically resets.

im guessing there will have to be a dedicated server for it so that would meen sacrifising one of maps on a server or starting new one so its all up to mike

The only problems I can think of this making is that people would kind of have to put there name down in order to get in to the next game.
And then there's would also be a problem say if someone left the game mid-tournament or after dieing and then new people might join and that would mess up the whole thing.
I don't know how it would work on a public server which is what I was hoping everyone to suggest >_>

A combo of a few plugins may work to fix that SoBoot.
I am not sure what plugin it is, but on the castle wars/ ship wars servers they have a plugin where you join a team for that round. maybe fiddle with the config to do what we want it to?

that sounds about right craig. we'd just have to get the map to reset, maybe chest contents to randomize.

Sounds good, alot of the servers are hamachi home pc servers or people looking for people to freely host them a server for the Hunger Games, but an mR one would be fun

It also has the rules on there.
But basically the rules would be
Only one player can win The Survival Games.
You can not break any blocks, expect for leaves and mushrooms.
You are only allowed to place blocks you find in chests.
Your inventory must be empty before you start the game.
No player is allowed to enter the host house.
Which has made me think of another problem.
If you're only allowed to break Mushrooms and leaves and can place objects you find in chest then that means we can't just region the whole thing...
