Why cannot you guys just copy our player data, for example, just copy all playerName.dat files over to the new map which would allow us to keep our inventories without having to walk 15,000+ blocks back to spawn while we wait and not play until the update?

That's what I am doing, however I don't want to start a new map and have everyone instantly spread out over the map. Hence the reason people need to come back to spawn.

Okay, I'm at spawn with my stuff... awaiting 1.2 . . .
I do apologize for the delay... When we made this thread we were under the assumption that 1.2 would be out within a day. 1.2 SHOULD be out by Thursday or Friday. As soon as the update is released the server will be updated and your stuff will be transferred over.
