I feel this thread has been needed a long time so here goes. (This applys to all minecraft servers it's only in the build 1 sub-forum because it had to be in one)
I think it is obvious to say that the minecraft servers traffic was low through most of the year. With that said, summer is approaching which should increase minecraft traffic a lot, however this is only possible if they can find our servers.
The best way for them to find our servers is through advertising. Advertising brings a lot of traffic to the servers but this is only possible if they can see our advertisements. There are at the moment many advertisements for the servers up right now. For example build 1 and legit are on minestatus. Minestatus is a great place to advertise but this is only if your server has a lot of votes. As I am writing this build 1 and legit have 0 votes on minestatus. This puts them at the bottom of the minestatus list out of the thousands of servers ours are at the bottom.
So here's where the community comes in, sure if I make this thread everyone will vote for the server once and we'll get some more people but then the votes on mcservers,minestatus and planetminecraft will be reset. How I see advertising working is through in-game rewards for voting for the servers. I see this on a lot of servers and it works well, they reward something like 3 diamonds for every website they vote for the server on. On build 1 it can be tricky because items are free at spawn but you can also reward xp ect. I see some legit players arguing that it's not legit to receive a reward in-game for just voting and I completely agree. We're going to need to find them something we can reward that doesn't take away from the server legitness.

Last thing I'd like to say is plugins, I think build1 is lacking fun plugins for regs, for example the supernatural plugin was removed, this was because a ton of ops were bitching about how constantly they are being asked to change somebody's class. I understand that and it's a fair point but I know 90% of regs enjoyed that plugin and maybe some even left because of it being removed (I'm not bringing this up in particular,I'm not asking for the plugin back it's just an example).
Anyway comment on what you think about an in-game reward voting system and comment what you think the reward should be.
