RP server?

I agree, building a new map would be pretty cool ( I think theold map should remain the way it is ) . Why not build a new map and run a PvP server similar to the one where we had to hunt down WhoDoc?

I think that if Xenol and Co. are able to get enough support from inside and outside the mR community then I would say we should by all means go ahead.

I like Kams idea a lot, that is would be a glorified build map at the start, but I also agree that combining it with PVP would be cool. Perhaps make it a bit like those hunger games servers that used to be so popular, with no block braking or placing, just using the environment to hide and survive, and points earned by killing others and looting their corpses. But first me should build it, and in that respect I think that the server should be set up and whitelisted to only the people on this forum willing and trustworthy enough to help (to prevent griefing) and then as has been said, people could spend time voxeling in mountains and terrain. It should defiantly be a new map.

Since it looks as if this project is going to get going, would you mind if I get something clarified? Is this going to be an actual roleplaying server for roleplaying or a glorified build server that eventually becomes something vaguely similar to Glorified Team Deathmatch?

I don't think anyone actually knows at the moment. I'd probably depend on how many people are actually willing to follow a full RP. A Survival Games PVP style game like WhoDoc setup on the old PvP server where we had to find legendary weapons and hunt him down would be quite cool though

From what it seems, it'll be a build server until we have the world made, then we can open the floodgates and go full RP.

While Im painting the world, drop me a description of the sort of place you want to live, desert, mountains, ice, ect ect. I wont take everyones ideas, cos some things are easier done with voxel afterwards, but big things, like bays and mountains are easier with world painter.

Ok so now that it's safely confirmed I guess it's time to start thinking of the theme. Medieval seems to be the most popular choice but if anybody has any other suggestions they should post them. Once the theme is chosen I guess we can start getting the rules and lore sorted out. That job should probably go to somebody who doesn't have a job yet but wants one (Odin, Axe, Bman). I guess we should all agree on the general rules and lore and then somebody with good English writing skills should write them up.

I also wouldn't mind reviewing drafts and correcting mistakes; although I don't normally show it in chat, I'm an A level English student. :P

Medieval fantasy sounds good. There are some VERY good medieval builders on mR servers. I also have a great medieval town/castle/citadel on my server that I could make a schematic of.
