Usually when it comes to walls, I say that depth and color is really what makes a wall interesting. I personally prefer 2-3 layers of depth and 2-3 colors. Cobblestone looks nice with wood (and might look well with the texture pack, I haven't checked it). I also like quartz with hardened clay and stone bricks with hardened clay. Of course, these are personal preferences and different building styles and themes will help with the diversity of each town or kingdom.
