It's up to Michael / mIKe / Bman to decide the ban time, not you guys. As far as I know you and Nitroft aren't getting your own special, separate punishments.
It seems like you're trying hard to make this way less serious than it really is. If people could grief and be let off with a warning if they apologized and fixed it then we might as well get rid of the no griefing rule... it doesn't really work like that.
