Build 1: Dieing?

Well, with minecraft 1.5 coming out on wednesday (or so I have heard from a reliable source) the servers should get a lot more attention, more regulars that have gotten tired of minecraft should hop on, and more FtB players that have either gotten tired of FtB or want to see 1.5 for them selfs will get on. I feel this problem will pull a MacGyver and fix itself.

But this thread does bring up a major point I feel needs to be sharpened. Advertising. We hardly get any new players, and they hardly ever stay. It would help if we could get our name out there a little more. Maybe open a new server that has some special feature? maybe design a really impressive looking poster for each, then place it all over the interweb? Just some ideas...

What about games such as MineZ or something? Maybe even a custom mR mod? I know Bannerfans is a great poster maker (See my sig (supports pics etc too, but I was lazy )) that could help.

When 1.5 comes out we should also enable command blocks (within limits) for some neat builds etc. We could also use the new scoreboard system for a mob/pvp server too

it was on the tekkit launcher so yeah that wont help but i suggest we make a build 1 steam group get everyone to join and advertise, emi could also talk to some of my steam friends and get them on and to ask them to advertise aswell, seeing as most of em owe me a favour or two.

I disagree with Towelie. Minecraft itself isnt dieing just the server is as its the same old same old. People often venture outside of spawn and instantly see dirt shacks and truly awful builds which have often been griefed and which would turn most people away. We should do more to advertise the server especially b1. We shouldn't give up on minecraft as its probably the only way mR can get donations, creative etc. We could also advertise the other games we do, and generally get the mR name out there.
