Welcome to mIKes ReVeNGe

This is a Half-Life 2: Deathmatch build server, and it has been since 2005. People come here to build things, not to frag: spawn props, stack them into forts, houses and contraptions, and save them for next time.

How to type a command

  1. Press Y to open chat.
  2. Type the command. Commands start with !, for example !spawn couch.
  3. Press Enter. Answers come back in chat, and only you see them.

Your first build

  1. Aim at the floor and type !spawn couch. It appears where you aim. Pictures of all 746 props: Props.
  2. Look at it and type !freeze. Now it won't fall or move, even in mid-air.
  3. !r 45 turns it, !raise 20 lifts it, and !weld sticks props together. More: Building.
  4. Type !savespawn save mybuild to keep it. Next time, !savespawn loadhere mybuild builds it again where you aim.

The one rule that matters

Kill only when it's agreed to DM. Everything else is in the rules.

Stuck?

Type !help and a word (!help door), or just ask in chat: "how do I save?" gets you an answer. !helpme plus a question asks the [mR] members online.

Remember an old command?

Type it the way you remember it. If it has moved, the server tells you its new name.

Back from 2008–2010?

Welcome back. In 2026 the server was rebuilt from mR's own 2010 code, so most things work the way you remember.

Every build saved from 2008 to 2010. !mysaves lists yours. !savespawn loadhere name builds one where you aim: old saves don't remember their map.

Everyone on the 2009–2010 member lists has their powers back. !admin lists them.

The console

New installs have it switched off: Options, Keyboard, Advanced, tick Enable developer console, then press ~. You don't need it for much here: nearly everything works in chat with a ! in front. savespawn was console-only in 2010; in chat it's !savespawn.
