Yeah we need default if we ever want to find our biome.

But with large biomes, when you do find your biome it will be even larger

However you often times get TOO much of that biome and it becomes a pain to explore for new resources found in other biomes or new biomes in general
I agree with senor clamy, when youre playing default, you can find your favorite biome faster, but you can risk it being really tiny. Large biomes are good especially for big projects that require a lot of flat land
:::::::::Merged Post:::::::::: http://mikes-revenge.net/forum/Thread-la...-legit-1-7 :::::::::Merged Post:::::::::: However deserts/oceans can be quite annoying on large biomes, you can easily get loads of forest or jungle and plains (my favourite biomes idk about you) and if you like mountains it wouldnt be hard to get some saplings from these other biomes and make a tree farm if thats what you're saying oink

On the current map, just to collect sand, I had to walk for about 15-20 minutes (using pearls too)
Kinda on the fence about it since my location could have just been shitty, but I still lean towards the good ol default biome generation (10-27-2013, 08:34 AM)Oink_mR Wrote: On the current map, just to collect sand, I had to walk for about 15-20 minutes (using pearls too) :/ Sand cannot reproduce into saplings, so I see your point, but, If we keep this new map longer than the current one (which i think we plan to since any new updates wont contain new biomes anytime soon) it will be simpler to get sand from a nether travel because you'll have more time to collect obsidian and make a quick route to any biome you want, especially considering that we learned our lesson on the current map that nether rails need to be planned better :::::::::Merged Post:::::::::: we could always make a sand tree mod :3

That's one of the reasons the nether is such a complete mess
On the old map with default biomes it was much more complete and organized

I didnt have any trouble getting resources from other biomes... except maybe mycelium. I did use the nether to get to most biomes though

Also large biomes cause lag because people are going so far out just to look for their biome. Plus i like default because we are all much closer. But there is a plus side to large biomes we do get more NPC villages and all that other stuff.
