Just think, with the slime blocks added in 1.8, sooo many uses on an amplified world

Not everybody can run Amplified, so it alienates others without good cpu's, which doesnt exactly help the problem when it comes to activity on legit. So i think we should pass.

exactly.

even on high-ish end computers amplified biomes can become a lag fest. Not to mention the fact that people are going to be making a lot of redstone contraptions and stuff like that.

Another option to get the cool features of amplified but just turned down a little would be the custom world generaion added in 1.8

Can get tall mountains (and only mountains so not everything is uber tall) and bigger and deeper rivers and stuff

At this point it is our best bet, unless we want to wait a few more painful months for some sort of api for 1.8

We could have a small world border that slowly moves 5 blocks everyday. Like Minecrack! it will make us work together as community in such a small piece of land!
It would be alot like Canada if anyone can remember that town.

I'd rather not do a world border, some people prefer to travel or just don't like sharing land with others. I'd say world border is kind of in the same boat as amplified in that it alienates some people.
